Tait Bedlington
Lead BPAD Consultant | Firefighter | Trainer
Hi, I’m Tait. I am recognised by the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) as a suitably qualified consultant in bush fire risk assessment. I know firsthand how complicated bushfire planning and design can feel—I’ve been through it myself while building my own home in a bushfire-prone area. I also live and work in these environments every day, so I understand what’s at stake.
My background is a bit different from most BPAD consultants. I’ve spent my career working across bushfire planning, environmental science, forestry, natural area restoration, emergency management, and frontline firefighting. I’ve been the Incident Controller of bushfires, led firefighting teams, trained crew leaders and firefighters, and deployed as a specialist firefighter both in Australia and overseas. When I assess a property, I’m not just ticking boxes—I know and understand how the environmental, human and built factors interact together and what works in real fire conditions, and I bring that depth of knowledge and experience into every report and recommendation.
What sets me apart isn’t just my technical knowledge and real world experience—it’s how I work with people. I believe in clear, straightforward advice, making compliance as stress-free as possible, and genuinely supporting my clients through the entire process. Whether you’re an owner-builder trying to get through approvals and construction or a planner, architect, or engineer looking for expert input, I’m here to help make things easier.
I take pride in my work, and I take my responsibility seriously. My approach is built on strong ethical principles, real-world insight, and a commitment to getting the best outcome for both my clients and the communities we build in.
If you need guidance on bushfire planning and design, let’s have a chat—I’d love to help.
